Welcome To The Grand Hotel Warrandyte
The Grand Hotel, situated in the heart of Warrandyte, was constructed in 1895, when it replaced the Anderson’s Hotel, which previously occupied the same site. The Hotel was bought by Francis Trezise and remained in the Trezise Family until the 1960’s. Ken and Alice Watson made modifications to the original building in the 1960’s and more modifications have been made since by various owners. The Grand Hotel last changed ownership early in the 1990’s and to date remains under the same ownership.
Club Warrandyte was established in the Year 2000 and with this a strong association evolved between the Grand Hotel and the Warrandyte Football Club.

Warrandyte is located 24kms north- east of melbourne central. Warrandyte was a once thriving gold rich community.much of Warrandyte is now conserved for vistors to see the past of the old mines including the old quarry once used for building, during the gold rush days. The first bridge to be built in Warrandyte was in 1861, spurred on by the locals, as the punts they originally used for crossing the river, were often washed away during any heavy rains. This area was also affected by bushfires during 1851 Feb 6th, 1939; Jan 13th, known as black Friday, when 71 people lost their lives and also in 1962; Jan 14& 16. There are also many artists in Warrandyte, since the early 19th century onwards, this started when the Heidelburg school sought subject matter in this area, starting off colonies.Artists, such as Clara Southern, penleigh Boyd and Jo Sweatman, all took up residence in this area, to continue their work.
